1 John 1: 9.
”For if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us all our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness”
Life sometimes is a strewn of challenges bundled together. Just when the tension of covid19 seems to be dying out, America has been hit with the gruesome murder of George Floyd, an African American. In the various states in America, thousands of protestors against this injustice have been met with brute force by the police. However, it is reported that the police in the state of Miami, rather knelt before the angry crowd and began to apologise. This stopped the violence as the protesters began to cry.
Wow! That is a classic example of the power of confession among men as recorded in James 5:16. Indeed, confession is probably one of the most underutilised weapons of our Christian faith.
- Our salvation is mainly based on our confession.
”…with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation”. (Rom 10: 10). - Life or death are the direct result of our words. (Prov 18:20).
The Bible says those who would love life and see many good days must keep their tongue from evil.
(1 Pet 3:10). That’s powerful.
Go ahead and speak life over every negative situation in your life. This world was created just by words. - God will do exactly what he hears you say. Numbers 14:28 is a must read! Jesus said by your words you will be acquitted or condemned. Think about it.
Dear friend, what have you been saying about year 2020, covid 19 or your family?
Learn to master words, because your words construct your future. Remember Jesus Christ is the high priest of our confession. (Heb 3:1). He can only pick up what you say and act upon it on your behalf.
May your confession become your possession this season!
