1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.” ~ Genesis 9:1,7

One of the heart-warming truths about our God is the fact that He has good plans concerning us. The Bible says, “I know the plans I have for you, plans of good and not of evil, plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). And it’s important to note that those plans do not change, no matter what happens.

This principle is made abundantly clear in Genesis 9.  Is it not interesting that after God had wiped out the whole of Noah’s generation, He comes out with almost the same instructions He gave to Adam and Eve? In Genesis 9:1, we are told then God blessed Noah and his sons and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.”

The same instruction is repeated in Genesis 9:7, just as He had commanded Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:28. The point here is that God’s expectation for humanity would not change: He expects every human being to be fruitful and increase. And in Genesis 9 He adds that He will demand an accounting from every one of us for what we do with our lives (Genesis 9:5).

And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.” ~ Genesis 9:5

The good news is that God will give you every grace to fulfil His plans for your life. If God said it, He will give the capacity and grace to accomplish it, just as He did for Abraham. The Bible says when God made His promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater than Himself, He swore by Himself (Hebrews 6:13). Verse 17 of the same chapter says:

“17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.” ~ Hebrews 6:17

Wow, this is heartwarming. God has sworn by Himself to help you to fulfil His plans for your life and nothing can change that. Today, you can go about fulfilling your purpose with the firm assurance that you have the whole backing of God to make you fruitful in this life.

The Bible says in Malachi 3:6, “I am God Almighty, I change not so you sons of Jacob are not consumed.” Beloved, you simply cannot fail because the Almighty God is on your side helping you to fulfil His purpose. Glory to God!
