Mark 8:15
”Be careful Jesus warned them, watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees.”

I was surprised to read that the virus that causes covid 19 measures about one thousandth of a diameter of the human hair. Think about it. As tiny and unnoticeable as this virus is, it is able to wreck havoc on the human body until it causes death, when one is infected with it.

I believe this is exactly how sin works: a little sin in your life, if not dealt with, could completely destroy your soul. Sin is simply living contrary to God’s word; and its results can be devastating:

— Sin is a sinker of destiny.
Like Jonah it can take you down until your life ebbs away.(Jonah 2:7).

— Sin brings defeat and derails your course.
The people of Israel were on a victorious march to the promised land until Achan’s sin brought defeat and derailed their course. The way of the transgessor is hard. (Prov 13 :15).

— Sin eventually causes death.
For the wages of sin is death.
(Rom 8: 23).

Dear friend this is why we do not have to toy with sin. It is like a little leaven that leaveneth the whole dough.

The good news is that, sin shall not be your master, for you are not under the law, but under Grace.
(Rom 4: 16).
