“Abraham was now very old, and the Lord had blessed him in every way.” ~ Genesis 24:1
Wow! What a blessing! What a life, and what a great way to end one’s life. This is quite uncommon in the world today; to be blessed in every way. Often, you will find people who are blessed in one way and challenged in another way.
It is common to see people who are wealthy but unhealthy; successful but sorrowful; hungry but hopeful; spiritual but shambolic. Indeed, it is often said that ‘no one has it all and everyone has a problem.’
Yet, it appears that Father Abraham had a beautiful ending. The Bible says, “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace” (Psalm 37:37).
To be candid, Abraham also had his fair share of challenges in the course of his life: Problems with his nephew Lot; childbirth challenges; and even financial challenges, to mention a few. But the Goodnews is that he had a beautiful ending. The Bible says though thy beginning be small, your end shall greatly increase! (Job 8:7).
My prayer for you today is that, like Father Abraham, when it is all said and done, you will be blessed in every way and have a glorious ending! Yours is to endeavor to fear God and keep his commandments; this is the whole duty of man says the wise man (Ecclesiastes 12:13). And it His part to bless you in ways you have never imagined.
The truth is that God knows the plans He has for you, they are good plans and not evil, to give you an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). This is not just the preserve of Father Abraham.
The Bible says, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3:13-14).
This is indeed the heritage of every righteous man. The Bible records that King David also died at a good old age, full of years, riches and honor (1 Chronicles 29:28).
Believe me, you are next in line for such a blessing. No matter what you are going through right now, may your end be like these fathers of faith in Jesus’ name!
