Isaiah 52: 1.
”Awake awake put on your strength, O Zion put on thy beautiful garments”
In a bid to contain the corona virus, the wearing of nose masks is becoming the new norm in almost every country today. I watch in amazement the emerging fashion trends that have come with it, especially the use of different fabrics and designs in making the nose masks; the ultimate purpose being to protect us from the virus.
Well, the truth is that in the spiritual realm there are also spiritual garments, that if worn by the children of God could equally protect us from being harmed by the enemy. The relevance of spiritual garments in these times cannot be overemphasized.
I hope to be sharing a few of these garments with you in the coming days. These garments are important because :
- They serve as a source of strength to the believer.
Our key Scripture today states that we should wake up and put on our strength. Samson’s hair, was one such spiritual garment, that gave him supernatural strength and immunity against every enemy attack. Receive yours today. - They bring dignity and glory to the believer.
Just as physical garments make us look good in the natural, so spiritual garments worn by the believer makes him look glorious. The Bible says of Jesus, that on the mount of transfiguration his clothes became dazzling white, shining exceedingly beyond the bleeching capacity of any launderer on earth. (Mark 9). That was a manifestation of His glory. - Spiritual garments also serve as a protective armour for the believer.
Paul suggests we ”put on the full armour of God in order to be able to stand against all the fiery darts of the enemy.” (Eph 6 :11-12). For indeed our fight is not physical but against spiritual forces of darkness.
Dear friend, as crucial as it is today for the ordinary man to wear nose masks and our frontliners to wear PPEs, as a protection against covid19, even much more imperative it is, for us as believers, to put on our spiritual garments in these endtimes.
In Rev 16: 15, the Bible says,
”Look, I come like a thief, blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”
May you remain covered in Jesus name!
