Matt 28:6.
”He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.”
The credibility of a person often depends on his track record. Today, most people unfortunately cannot be trusted. When they say look up, it’s time to look down; but God is not a man that he she should lie. (Num 29:13)
Jesus, unlike mortal men, has a proven track record that should make us take Him more seriously. See the following:
- His dealings with his close associates.
Jesus warned Peter: “This very night before the cock crows you will deny me three times”.(Matt 26:34). He cautioned the rest, “I tell you, one of you will betray me” (Matt 26: 21). These predictions happened with precision. - His promise of resurrection.
The promise of resurection was probably one of the most farfetched prophecies Jesus ever gave; and He repeated it severally. He boldly declared, “I lay down my life only to take it up again” (John 10:17); and true to His words, He rose up triumphantly on the third day. - His Endtime predictions.
A careful student of the Bible will notice that about 98% of Jesus’ endtime predictions have been fulfilled. Wars, famines, earthquakes pestilences have all been experienced here on earth. Thanks to covid 19, the Gospel will soon reach the whole world, then the end will come. (Matt 24:14).
Dear friend, the above record proves Jesus’ level of credibility. Once more, His promise to return to judge the earth is certain and imminent. The Bible says, “Do not let your heart be troubled, trust in God and trust also in me, … I go to prepare a place for you and I will come back and take you to be with me”. (John 14:1-3). How reassuring!
This too will happen, just as He said.
Don’t just stay safe, stay rapturable!
