The Garment of Praise

The Garment of Praise

Isaiah 61:3
”…To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness.”

I find it interesting that, the bible calls praise a garment. However, the expression is used to make us appreciate how we should show forth praise as an alternative lifestyle in a world full of fear, anxiety and despair.

Indeed we are called to show forth (display) the praises of the one who called us from darkness into His marvelous light, just as a royal displays his beautiful adornments .(1 Pet 2:9)

Praise to me is one of the most underutilised assets of the believer.

Here you are with a few benefits that should provoke you to put on your ”garment of praise”

  1. Praise produces supernatural strength.
Nehemiah says ”neither be ye sorry for the joy of the Lord is your strength”. (Neh 8:2.)
  2. Praise is a weapon.
All through the bible, praise was employed as God’s battle strategy.
This is evident in the case of 2 Chron 20:22 “as they began to sing and praise God,the lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon ,Moab, and Mt Seir…and they were defeated”
  3. Praise opens doors for the believer.
Even prison doors broke open and the earth shook as Paul and Silas gave praises to God at midnight. (Acts 16:25-26)

Dear friend, praise is indeed your ordained strength that can easily sort out all your enemies.
The Bible says; ”out of the mouths of babies and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the foe and the avenger.” (Psalm 8:2.)

Put on this powerful garment of Praise and watch the wonderful doors that will open for you this season.
