1 Samuel 25:18.
”Abigail acted quickly, she took hundred loaves of bread, two skins of wine…”
Growing up, one of the petnames we gave to our mother was ‘Quick action’. This was due to the swiftness with which she reacted to situations she felt could jeopardise the welfare of our family.
Similarly, we expect and pray that our health workers quickly find the cure to this threat of covid19 which seeks to exterminate humanity. This calls for wisdom; the kind that Abigail used to save her family from destruction.
— Abigail acted quickly to save her family from imminent danger. (1 Sam 25:18).
The Bible says she lost no time, she picked up foodstuffs and wine as gifts for David to appease him.
— Her quick response also saved the future king from shedding the blood of her household. (1 Sam 25:26)
— Abigail quickly accepted to marry David after her husband Nabal died.
The Bible says she arose in haste and became his wife. (1 Sam 25: 42).
So by her wisdom, Abigail eventually became the queen of Israel.
Dear friend, the Bible says ”a prudent man foresees evil and hides himself but the simple pass on and are punished”. Prov 22:3
The truth is that our world is under a more serious threat of being destroyed by its Creator – God Almighty, than the threat of covid19.
What are you doing today to save your family, friends and loved ones from going to Hell?
The Bible says ”Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever”. (Daniel 12:3)
Let the ‘Abigails’ of our time arise. Let wise Christians get into action. The time is now!
