1 Samuel 25: 31b
”And when the Lord your God, has brought my lord success, remember your servant”
Even though the fight against covid 19 is far from over, smart and serious companies are beginning to reposition themselves for post covid business. These companies are aligning their operations to fit the ‘new normal’. What’s more, the success rate of some nations like Taiwan against the covid19 threat, has even been largely attributed to the advance preparation of such governments against this pandemic.
Success indeed is not an accident; it comes to those who prepare and position themselves for it. The Biblical character Abigail, no doubt stands out as one such woman who positioned herself well for success.
— Abigail chose to associate with a man with a vision – David.
He who walks with the wise grows wise.(Prov 13: 20). The person(s) with whom you walk and associate yourself with, is a key determinant of your success or failure in life.
— She positioned herself strategically for the future.(Verses 30-31).
Not only did Abigail speak to David wisely, but she also asked him to remember her, when he assumed the throne as king; just like the thief on the cross of Calvary, asked Jesus to remember him in paradise.
— Abigail chose to identify with ‘good success’ which emanates from the Lord. (Joshua 1: 8).
There are many people that are considered successful by worldly standards. Unfortunately, the success of such people is often not from the Lord, but borne out of greed, exploitation and coveteousness.
Dear friend, how are you preparing and positioning yourself for the future? What investments are you making today that will pay off in this life and in the life to come?
Abigail’s wisdom is what catapulted her from the place of widowhood into the palace of royalty.
Aim to succeed not only in this life, but most importantly in the life to come.
